I was glad when they said to me,

I was glad when they said to me,

“Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

Psalm 122:1

It was good to be back together for morning worship. There is no doubt these past few months though we were scattered, we still worshipped as members of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church. Why, ponder the thought that every breath you take, every move you make is an act of worship, thankfulness, shear joy of being in relationship with God, neighbor, and self.

In this time of social distancing, the work of the church continued. Deacons cared for members and friends. Children were fed in the Summer Lunch Program. Those in need were served by members working with others in our community through Central Park Dinners, Lets’ Help, JUMP, and Doorstep ministries.

Elders exercised leadership and wrestled with the health of the church. Areas of finance, memorial funds, future needs of the church, and with new ways of being the church in light of the challenges of the day have graced their agendas and prayer lives.

The Pastor Nominating Committee deliberated long and hard, listening to the voice of the congregation echoed in the Holy Cow! congregational survey, writing our churches Mission Information Form that will be used in the search for a pastor.

Facilities Committee spruced up the church grounds, took care of maintenance matters with our HVAC system, our fire and security systems, updated an improved our sound system in the sanctuary, and worked with members to prepare the building for our return. Those who were able to join us for Sunday Worship, walked into a sanctuary, with new carpet, design, and layout.

Work continues with efforts to improve communications. A Communication Committee is being formed to help us in our efforts to improve our website, email communication, and abilities to record and stream our morning worship. Updating our technology and web footprint is a challenge and if your able to help, contact Becky Sullivan, Clerk of Session, or the Pastor Koch.

We are ever so blessed and grateful for all who serve in so many ways to carry out the work of our church. Together, with God’s help, and with glad hearts and joyful souls, we are the church, built up, blessed and joined together in Christ, sharing God’s love, come join us.
